NEARBY residents were evacuated from their homes at Warrington when a fire involving wheelie bins spread to two outside garages.
The blaze was at Ferryside, Thelwall shortly after 11pm last night.
Firefighters from Warrington and Stockton Heath, four wearing breathing apparatus, tackled the outbreak using two hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
They also used a thermal imaging camera to search for any further hot spots. They were at the scene for three and-a-half hours
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
In another incident, fire crews were called to Leicester Street, Warrington to deal with a fire that had been started deliberately.
They used a hosereel jet to extinguish the outbreak. Police are investigating.
