WITH 15 Championship wins in ten years Kart racer Paul Platt from Warrington has been on the top of Karting for a decade – although 2016 has become a new learning curve.

Although he looks at 2016 as not as good as previous seasons he has still gone on to win and come second in a race in Assen Holland and then went onto another first and second in Marseilles France during his first venture into Europe in the Super Mono Championship in the 250cc class.

In Great Britain he has had podium finishes but not managed a win mainly due to mechanical problem throughout the season.

Paul took the opportunity to get in some testing at Oulton Park in his 250 cc machine.

He said: “I’ve got few problems to iron out and frustrating that little thing keep cropping but that’s Karting!”

He has had hard steering problems during testing and another problem with his braking system.

“On the whole the machine went well and the valuable time here at Oulton Park testing has been a great help,” added Paul.

Over the past decade Paul has won 4 250cc and 3 125cc MSA Championships,4 British Championships and 4 United Kingdom Championships.

“With out the help from my dad Alan and friends and of course my mum Janet who makes sure that we are well fed as well helping out at meetings at home and abroad I don’t think I would have got where I am” said Paul, who is sponsored by Demon Tweeks, Red Speed and WIWA Racing.

Pictures show Paul and Stuart Whitham checking the brake pedal which had caused problems during testing and Paul in action on the Oulton Part Circuit.
