University campus opens doors to prospective students

WARRINGTON Campus of the University of Chester will open its doors to prospective students at an Open Day on Saturday, October 22 from 10.30am to 3pm.
The next potential intake of undergraduate students will be able to see the programmes available at the campus and how studying in their chosen field can help them fulfil their ambitions.
A range of exciting courses in the creative industries are available, such as Advertising; Commercial Music Production; Digital Photography; Film Studies; Media Studies; Radio Production; TV Production; Music Production and Promotion; Sports Journalism; Broadcast Production and Presenting and Music Journalism.
For those interested in sport there are courses available in Sport Development and Coaching or Sports Coaching – and rugby fans, don’t forget that the campus is where Super League Grand Finalists, Warrington Wolves, train.
The Warrington School of Management is the place to focus on a career in business with programmes in Business, Events Management, Marketing or Hospitality Management.
For students looking for a future making a difference in public service, the Campus offers programmes in Social Work; Nursing; PGCE Early Year’s Teaching; Community Policing and Criminal Investigation and Policing Law and Investigation.
The Warrington Campus provides a friendly, close-knit community, innovative courses and a strong focus on employability and transferable skills. The 30-acre site hosts academic expertise for both residential and commuting students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, together with social and leisure facilities.
Mark Hoddell, marketing co-ordinator at the Campus, said: “Attending an Open Day is a useful starting point for prospective students to research their options. They will be able to take part in taster lectures and guidance sessions, have a one-to-one chats with academic staff, as well as exploring the academic facilities and student accommodation. They can also find out more about the support available to help them during their degree, which can make a real difference to their careers.
“This is the opportunity for would-be students to view what the Warrington Campus has to offer them. They can find out for themselves what it would really be like to live and study here – it’s an ideal way of seeing whether Warrington is right for them.”
