Second consultation meeting on Culcheth Library

A SECOND public consultation meeting is to be held at Culcheth into the controversial proposals to close the village library.
It will be held at Culcheth High School on Wednesday, October 19 at 6pm.
Library operators LiveWire will send members of their library modernisation team to listen to questions and comments from members of the public.
This follows an earlier meeting on September 7 when ran out of time because of the number of questions raised.
Culcheth Library is one of a number across the borough which could close following a steep decline in the number of people using libraries.
Others include Warrington Central library, and the libraries at Burtonwood, Birchwood, Lymm, Padgate, Penketh, Stockton Heath and Westbrook.
LiveWire stress that no decisions have yet been made and have extended the consultation period to allow more time for comments.
Local councillors and Warrington North MP Helen Jones have voiced strong opposition to any closures.
