Village church to repeat tree festival

ST MARY’S Church, Lymm, will be holding its second Community Christmas Tree Festival in December.
Last year the church was transformed into a wonderful spectacle of colour and light as local organisations provided decorated and illuminated Christmas Trees.
This year’s Festival, which is to be held from Friday December 2 to Sunday  December 4,  will be bigger and brighter with more  Lymm groups providing trees decorated to the theme “Christmas Stories”.
The church will be open Friday and Saturday from 10am until 5pm. On Sunday there will be a Christingle Service at 10am in aid of the Children’s Society and the church will remain open from 11am onwards. At 12 noon there will be a Christmas Singalong and the Festival will draw to a close at 4.00pm. Admission is free.
There will be several linked events during the weekend, including a short children’s service on Friday morning and a Godly Play session suitable for all ages on Saturday afternoon. At other times there will be some seasonal music provided by visiting local choirs, including children from Ravenbank Primary School.
A variety of crafts and produce will be on sale plus a craft activity for children who will be able to make a Christmas decoration to take home.  Refreshments will be available throughout each day.
The festival aims to bring the wider community together in an event which welcomes hundreds of visitors into the church.  It is a celebration of Christmas by the community for the community.
