Schoolboy threatened by man with knife at Appleton

POLICE are investigating at incident at Appleton, Warrington, earlier today when a 13-year-old boy, who was on his way to school, was threatened by a man armed with a knife.

There will be an increased police presence in the area tonight to provide reassuarance to the local community while investigations are ongoing.

The incident happened at approximately 9.00am today when officers from Cheshire Police received reports that a 13-year-old boy was approached by a man with a knife whilst traveling to school.

The boy was not injured and officers are currently working to establish the full circumstances regarding the incident, which is believed to have occurred in the Cann Lane South area of Appleton.

Officers would like to remind pupils to remain vigilant at all times and report any suspicious activity to the Police.

Students of Bridgewater High School have been warned to be extra vigilant when going to and from school.

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 148 of 3/10/16.
