A THREE vehicle collision on the M62 resulted in the closure of the westbound carriageway at junction nine at Winwick at around 4pm today, causing lengthy delays.
Police have thanked members of the public who gave assistance at the scene prior to emergency services arriving.
Normal traffic conditions are expected around 6.15-6.30pm and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and be patient if stuck in delays.
