Motorist attacked and robbed by gang of four

A MAN was  attacked and robbed just after using a cash machine at Lately Common, near Culcheth.
Four men, wearing balaclavas and one wielding a metal pole pounced at the petrol station at the junction of the A574 Warrington Road and the A580 East Lancashire Road.
The attack took place at about 1.30am on Saturday and police appealed for information today.
A 30-year-old man stopped at the filling station to withdraw cash from the cash machine.
Immediately afterward he was attacked by the four men who stole his bum bag containing the money.
The offenders, one of who was about six feet two inches tall, then drove off in the direction of Lowton.
As a result of the incident the victim suffered injuries to his head and hand and was taken to Warrington Hospital, although he was later discharged.
