LATCHFORD ALBION 34  BAMBER BRIDGE  16

LATCHFORD Albion have been promoted to the NWML premier division following a comfortable victory over Bamber Bridge at the Victoria Park Arena.
Knowing a victory would be sufficient Albion played a more conservative game controlling possession and territory in the opening stages and this was rewarded when Connor Muir continued his recent impressive scoring run with a try following good work from fellow half back Dave Yii, with Muir also converting.
Danny Brown dummied his way over soon after and with this Latchford had opened up a 12 point lead within the first 10 minutes, However a spilled ball from the restart gave Bridge their first attacking opportunity, which they took full advantage of to register a converted try.
Muir again crossed following a 40 yard solo effort where the Bamber defence were left in his wake but with half time approaching the visitors scored again to leave half time 18 – 10.
As with the first half it was the hosts who opened the scoring when a wide ball by the impressive hooker Roberto Stratford-Fuentes allowed Joe Clarke to get outside his man and use his size and strength to hold off 3 defenders and somehow manage to ground the ball out wide to put Albion
in control and when Muir completed his hat trick Latchford had opened up a comfortable lead.
Credit to Bamber Bridge who never gave up and were rewarded with a good team try. However victory, and promotion, was sealed through a solo effort from Drew Bradley who raced 50 yards down the touchline to outpace the Bridge defenders. This was also converted by Muir to seal victory.
