Man taken to hospital after pub attack

POLICE today appealed for witnesses following an assault in a Culcheth pub at the weekend.
The alleged attack took place in the Pack Horse pub at about 8.20pm on Saturday.
A 31-year-old man suffered a serious injury to his neck and was taken to hospital. He is now in a stable condition.
A 34-year-old man from Warrington has been charged with wounding with intent and remanded in custody.
But police would still like to talk to people who may have witnessed the incident or who were in the pub at the time.
They should call police on 101 quoting incident number 964 of September 17. Information can also be passed on anonymously by calling the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
