Police helicopter assists hunt for motorist on the run

THE police helicopter was called out to Lymm to help assist in the hunt for a man who abandoned a vehicle in the village following a fail to stop collision in Runcorn.

Police were called at 15.15 today, Tuesday 30 August, following reports of a fail to stop collision in Halton Lea in Runcorn after a collision with a wall.

The car was subsequently located on the A49 heading towards Lymm, Warrington, and the driver left the vehicle.

Officers are currently searching the area in a bid to trace the occupant.

The man is described as wearing tracksuit bottoms, a red jumper, a black coat and wearing bright red trainers.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police quoting incident number 548 of 30 August.
