Pedestrian seriously injured after deliberate hit and run

WARRINGTON police are hunting for a motorist following what appeared to be a deliberate hit and run incident at Dallam earlier today.

The incident involved a car appearing to deliberately strike a 39-year-old man as he walked along Longshaw Street near the junction of Dagnall Lane at about 8.40am this morning.

The victim was transferred to Aintree hospital where his condition is described as serious.

The incident involved a Ford Fiesta. Paramedics treated the victim at the scene for serious leg injuries before he was transferred to hospital.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 176 of August 30 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
