TWO Warrington men have beaten hundreds of other entries from across three continents to reach the finals of the International Forklift Operator of the Year award.
Adam Hayes and Kristian Sherratt will be demonstrating their knowledge, skill and understanding of safe forklift truck operation when they take part in the live competition finals in front of 20,000 people at IMHX (International Materials Handling Exhibition) at the NEC, Birmingham from  September 13-16.
Adam, 23, from Latchford, and Kristian, 37, from Bewsey, beat competitors from as far away as India and the USA in order to reach the finals.  They are part of a shortlist of only 40 finalists in the running to be crowned International Forklift Operator of the Year.
The competition is hosted by UK-based RTITB, the preferred regulatory body for workplace transport training, and aims to find, recognise and reward the very best forklift operator in the world.
Laura Nelson, Managing Director of RTITB, congratulated Adam and Kristian on their success.
She said: “This is a very prestigious award so to reach the finals you have to prove you are ‘the best of the best’.  To qualify for the next round of the competition Adam and Kristian scored highly in the initial online tests and they thoroughly deserve to be competing in the finals against their peers.”
