RAIN did not stop play as glorious sunshine greeted Glazebury Cricket Club’s annual fun day.

Held in the huge beer garden at the back of the Chat Moss pub, local residents were able to enjoy a host of fun activities including BBQ, live music, bouncy castle, beat the goalie, tombola, raffle, hook a duck , lawn darts, golf competitions and more.

There was a good turn out for the fundraising fun day and club chairman Callum Morgan said “ It’s a great community day out and also our main fundraising event of the year. The proceeds cover 25% of our annual outgoings so it is vital for the club’s continued existence.

“Also this is a great way to promote ourselves to prospective new members. We accept anyone from the age of 8 and are hoping to get enough juniors to form a team. As the Glazebury Gala is no longer held each year this is the only chance for the community to come together for a fun day.”

With four games left in the season Glazebury are mid table with both 1st and 2nd teams. If you fancy trying your arm at the game of cricket just go to Glazebury Cricket grounds facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/GlazeburyCC/

After so many washouts this year it was great to have an event where rain did not stop play.
