Ashton Sims performs hair-raising fundraiser!

FAMOUS for his flowing locks Warrington Wolves’ popular Prop forward Ashton Sims was faced with a hair-raising challenge – when he was invited to shave the heads of two women raising money for charity.

Gill Burns and her hairdressing friend Lorraine Nolan both decided to have their heads shaved for the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity after both being touched by cancer.

Lorraine was treated by Clatterbridge a couple of year’s ago while Gill’s partner Adrian was treated seven years ago.

After finding out they had something in common Lorraine talked Gill into the sponsored headshave setting themselves the target or raising £5,000.

Up stepped Ashton to help the women by shaving their heads at The Hair Shop, Westbrook, Warrington.

Gill, a St Helens fan, who entrusted Ashton to the task in hand, said: “All donations will go to the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity who were fantastic in their treatment and help of my husband Adrian and also Lorraine, who have both been affected by this horrible disease.

“I’m sure you or someone you know has been touched by Cancer at some point and it is getting far too many! We need to raise as much as we can to help it become a thing of the past.

“So please help us reach our target or beyond if possible! Every little helps.”

With pledges and donations they have already reached their target – but further donations can still be made online at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Gillian-Burns1
