VIDEO: MORE than 1,600 youngsters turned out in force to enjoy a day of fun in the sun at another fantastic VPX community event at Victoria Park, Warrington .
They were joined by over 900 adults at the event, now in its ninth year, organised by local Police Community Support Officer Tony Spruce, his former colleague Tom Reid, Paul Flannery from LiveWire and a huge team of volunteers.
Tony, who is already planning next year’s 10th anniversary event is on the look out for more community sponsors.
“We’ve literally scraped the bottom of the barrel to put on this year’s event and there is absolutely no funding left – so we need to find some more sponsors for next year to put on an extra special event for the 10th anniversary.”
The events are sponsored by a number of local organisations and charities, including Warrington Live Wire, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, the Warrington Wolves foundation, Warrington Town FC, Decathlon, Active Cheshire and Warrington South Area Board, along with a number of other local businesses.
VPX will be back next Tuesday (August 23rd), from 11am-4pm at Victoria Park.
