Tough away day for Warrington Town in the F.A Cup

WARRINGTON Town face a tough away day in the F.A Cup after being drawn at fellow Evo-Stik Premier Division Workington Town.

After creating history in the 2014-15 season when they beat League Two Exeter City in front of the live TV cameras, Warrington, bowed out in the preliminary round last season at North West Counties Abbey Hey.

Reflecting on the draw Chairman Toby Macormac said: “In line with our opening league fixtures we find ourselves handed a tough opener in the FA Cup in the form of Workington, who made the play-offs last season!”

Warrington won at Workington two seasons ago in the league cup, but that will count for nothing when they travel to Cumbria on Saturday, September 3rd, kick off 3pm.

Meanwhile Warrington will be hoping to carry their good form from Saturday’s opening league victory over Stourbridge to the North East tomorrow (Tuesday) when they face Spennymoor, kick off 7.45pm.
