Firefighters in swan rescue drama

FIREFIGHTERS from Warrington have played an important part in the rescue of a swan entangled in a fishing line and hook.
The RSPCA called in the fire and rescue service after the swan was discovered in distress on Appleton Reservoir.
Two fire engines and the fire service boat were sent to the scene.
Fire Service swift water technicians went into the water to help move the swan to the side of the reservoir to have the line and hook, which was in its beak, removed.
