GROUPS prepared to put on town centre-based activities at Warrington could be in line for a £1,000 grant.
The borough council’s Town Centre Partnership Group is seeking applications to deliver town centre activities that benefit local people.
Cllr Tony Higgins, the council’s lead member for culture, leisure and community, said: “I would encourage any town centre groups to apply for these grants. It’s a great opportunity for us to help you to do something positive for town centre communities.”
Any organisation that is led by or in partnership with an organisation belonging to the business, voluntary, community or faith sector can apply for the funding before the deadline of Monday September 12.
The last two grants were given to Warrington Ethnic Communities Association towards the Mela event and to a group called Blooming Art for a National Trail Day event.
Applications, for up to £1,000, are welcomed but if significant impact can be demonstrated, larger grants may be awarded on a case by case basis.
