Wolves’ stars take a break – to play cricket

WARRINGTON Wolves players will take an afternoon off from training on Wednesday (August 10) – to play cricket.

A six-a-side tournament is being held at Grappenhall Cricket Club’s Broad Lane ground with four teams taking part – two made up of Wolves’ players, one of Wolves’ staff and one from Grappenhall’s Under 19s team.

The first match will start at 4pm, with each match consisting of five overs per side.

The full Wolves 1st team squad will be there, along with Wolfie and a Grappenhall spokesman said: “It’s a great opportunity for people to come down and meet some of the town’s rugby heroes.

“Entry is free and it gives us an opportunity to showcase our ground and facilities.”
