THE mother of Connor Green – the former Warrington teenager who was found dead earlier this week near his home in Widnes – today spoke movingly of her son.
Pauline Green said: “Connor was my world and I miss him desperately.  I am absolutely devastated at his death and am struggling to come to terms with it.
“Connor was my best friend and I loved him so much.  He was a happy boy with a great sense of humour – and that is how I want him to be remembered by all those who knew him and loved him.
“My three younger children are devastated to have lost such a loving big brother and his dad Eddie and Connor’s girlfriend Marcie are also devastated.
“I would like to thank Cheshire Police and all the people of Hale Bank for their support over the past few days.  I am overwhelmed at the kind words and heartwarming comments that I have received about Connor – particularly the kindness shown by Connor’s friends via messages on social media.
“We would now like to be left to grieve in peace and to be able to lay Connor to sleep peacefully.”
Connor, 19, lived at Chapelford before moving to Widnes.
Police launched a major search for him after his disappeared at the weekend.
They believed he could be in either the Warrington or Altrincham areas, where he had links.
But his body was found on Monday evening in woodland near his home at Halebank.
