Police call off search after body found in wood

UPDATED: CHESHIRE police are no longer searching for missing teenager Connor Green after a body was found in a wood last night.

At 8:30pm last night (Monday) the body of a man was discovered in a wooded area in Waterside Lane, Widnes, which has now been confirmed as that of Connor.

Formal identification has now taken place and police have confirmed that it is missing Widnes teenager Connor Green.

Connor’s family are currently being supported by specially trained officers.

A post mortem will take place in due course. There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a file will prepared for the coroner.

A police spokesperson said: “We would like to thank the media and members of the public for their assistance in publicising this appeal.”

Although from Widnes police had extended the search for Connor to Warrington due to links with the town.
