Mayor hosts “best ever” multi-cultural event for Warrington

WARRINGTON’S Mayor Faisal Rashid has described a multi-cultural event he hosted in the town at Walton Gardens as a great success – the “best ever” he has seen during his lifetime in the town.

The event which took place in a giant marquee at Walton Garden’s, as part of Disability awareness week, was a sell out success.

More than 250 people enjoyed entertainment and food from all over the world with entertainment including Egyptian belly dancer, Russian dancers, Warrington pipe band, Irish dancers, Greek dancing, Indian classical dancers and African drummer a Welsh band and a Coptic choir.

Cllr Rashid said: “The event was the best ever multi-cultural evening I have ever seen in my lifetime in Warrington. It was a great success!”
