Teenage cyclist rushed to hospital after hit-and-run at Orford

POLICE are investigating a hit and run incident at Orford which left a teenage cyclist suffering serious injuries.

The incident took place at 2.51pm today when police were called to a collision involving a cyclist and a car in Small Avenue in Warrington.

The car then left the scene leaving the cyclist, thought to be an 18-year-old local man, with serious injuries. He was taken to Aintree Hospital.

Police are investigating the circumstances and are searching the area for a dark blue estate car with extensive front end damage and two men on board.

The police helicopter was called in to help assist with the search.
