HUNDREDS of people lined the streets to watch this year’s Padgate Walking Day which was blessed with glorious sunshine.

Pupils and teachers from schools were joined by representatives from churches and brass bands for the annual walk down Padgate Lane and back again.

Young girls showed off their white dresses while boys dressed in their uniforms from schools including St Bridget’s, Cinnamon Brow CE Primary School and Christ Church.

The walkers were accompanied by music from local band troops including Warrington Phoenix Drum and Trumpet Corp, and Cadishead Brass Band.

There was also a funfair on Bennett’s Recreation Ground, and a disco, face painting and magic show provided in Padgate Youth and Community Centre.
