THE Viola Beach Memorial Fund, set up by Warrington Borough Council three months ago, has now reached almost £13,000.
Fund organisers are reminding fans and residents who still want contribute that there is still time to make a donation to fund a hometown memorial.
New Warrington Mayor, Cllr Faisal Rashid, said: “The amount raised so far is wonderful and we hope donations carry on coming in so that a worthy, permanent tribute can be created in the town centre for these tragically lost, talented young men.”
The families of the band have also been carrying out many fundraising events such as charity meals, cycle rides, pub runs and much more.
Kris Leonard, River Reeves, Tom Lowe, Jack Dakin and their manager Craig Tarry tragically died in Sweden when their car plunged more than 82ft from a highway bridge on February 13.
The fund was set up following discussions with the families.
Contributions to the Viola Beach memorial fund can be made securely online at warrington.gov.uk/violabeach
