Police appeal after robbery attempt in park

POLICE at Warrington today appealed for information following an attempted robbery in a local park.
The incident was on Wednesday, May 25 at about 4pm in Woolston Park.
A 14-year-old boy was riding his bicycle through the park when he was approached by a youth aged about 17-18’
He demanded that the boy get off his bike and became aggressive when he refused to do so.
He pushed him off his bike and hit him in the face.
Fortunately the boy was able to grab hold of the back wheel preventing the offender from taking the bike and riding away.
The offender then ran off into the park. He is described as being aged between 17-18 years of age, of a slim build, around 5 ft 8 inches in height and was wearing a grey peaked cap, a grey raincoat and light grey jogging bottoms.
Anyone with any information on this incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting the incident number 153 on May 26.
