BIKE Week UK starts today – and Warrington Borough Council wants local people to mark it by pledging to ride to work.
It’s the annual opportunity to promote cycling and show how cycling can easily be part of everyday life by encouraging everyday cycling for everyone.
This year’s theme has a special focus on encouraging people to use their bikes to cycle to work.
Commuters wishing to try cycling to work can use the new Warrington Cycle Map to scope out the easiest route to their place of work.
To take the Bike Week Pledge and have the chance to win amazing prizes visit travelwarrington.co.uk and complete Bike Week’s online form.
Cllr Hans Mundry (pictured), the council’s lead member for highways and transportation said: “Bike Week showcases the social, health and environmental benefits of cycling and we would encourage people to give cycling a go either for fun or as a means of getting to work or school.”
