Blooming marvelous – a Gold for Janet!

A LYMM flower arranger won a Gold Medal at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show – adding to the success of winning a Silver Medal last year!
Janet Schofield, a member of Lymm Floral Group, has been a keen flower arranger for 15 years and competes regularly at local and national shows.
Having gained a Silver at Chelsea last year, she was delighted to be invited back to compete in the Floral Design Studio this year alongside fellow  members of the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies from across the UK and beyond.
As there are only 64 places available in four classes over the two sessions, being asked to compete is an achievement in itself.
In the class entitled Dimensional, Janet created a design suspended from a 2.3m tall garden arch, working overnight and finishing around 5am.
She said: “I was absolutely thrilled to get a Gold. The support encouragement and friendship of the flower club members has been very much appreciated.”
Lymm Floral Art Group meets at 7.30pm every third Monday in Lymm Village Hall and visitors are always warmly welcomed.
