A Counsellor from Stockton Heath is launching a new free grief support group based at the Fairfield and Howley Neighbourhood Project which will open its doors to those seeking bereavement support later this month.
Marsha Roberts established Warrington Grief Support Group which will be based on Fairfield Street, Warrington, after realising there was no other service in the Warrington area offering a group support format led by a trained counsellor.
Marsha said: “Having experienced the loss of my mother seven-and-a-half years ago I understand how hard a bereavement can be and the feelings of isolation that can follow.
“Sometimes you need to speak with others in a confidential and non-judgemental setting who understand exactly what you are going through to realise you are not alone in your grief.
“So far the feedback I have received for the group has been very positive as not everybody wishes to have one to one therapy and would prefer to share their feelings with a supportive group.”
Marsha who completed her counselling training at Warrington Collegiate last year will also be assisted by trainee counsellor and Warrington Inspiration Award nominee Gemma Ellison.
The group open their doors on Thursday May 26 from 6:30PM – 8:00PM and will run at the same time on the last Thursday of every month thereafter.
