Eighteen Plus celebrates 50 years

WARRINGTON 18 Plus Group has celebrated its 50th anniversary – and marked the occasion with an event at Alford Sports Club attended by more than 50 ex-members.
About 30 were founder members – and they spent the evening talking, renewing old friendships and reminiscing about “the best days of our lives”.
Sadly no 18 Plus groups now exist in the North of England but some are still running in other places and can be found at http://www.plusgroups.org.uk
Originally, 18 Plus was a national youth organisation started in the 1950s to encourage young people to participate in social, cultural and sporting activities.
Today, the organisation is simply called Plus and it caters for a wider age range.
