TWO people were injured in a road crash on  the A56 at Thelwall, Warrington, early this morning.
Rush-hour traffic was held up in Stockport Road after the incident, which involved two cars.
The casualties, a man and a woman, were treated by paramedics while firefighters from Stockton Heath made the scene safe and helped control traffic.
Last night, the tractor unit of a heavy goods vehicle was involved in fire.
Firefighters, one wearing breathing apparatus, use a hose reel jet to put out the blaze which was caused by over-heated brakes.
The crew then damped down the surrounding area.
