Conifer trees hit by fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called out at Warrington last night to deal with a fire involving a number of conifer trees.
The blaze was reported on land off Bewsey Farm Close, Bewsey shortly before 6pm.
One fire engine from Warrington’s Winwick Road fire station was sent to the scene and crews used beaters and water backpacks to extinguish the fire.
Cause of the outbreak has not been revealed.
Earlier, firefighters from Warrington were called to a car fire in Clay Lane, Burtonwood. One crew member wearing breathing apparatus tackled the flames using a hose reel jet.
