Woolston pools to remain closed

THE swimming pools at Woolston Neighbourhood Hub will remain closed “until further notice” following delays in improvement works.

The pools had been scheduled to open last Saturday, but this was put back a week – but now they will remain closed while contractors carry out essential technical inspections.

A spokesperson at LiveWire, said: “Following further discussions with contractors who are carrying out improvement works, both pools at Woolston Neighbourhood Hub will remain closed until further notice.

“We had anticipated that the pools would reopen this Saturday, following a one week delay to the improvement work, but contractors have identified that additional time is still needed to complete the essential technical inspections.

“We will be contacting every customer who is affected directly and will continue to provide the Learn To Swim programme across other LiveWire sites until the pools reopen.

“We would like to assure our customers that we are doing everything we can to open the pools as soon as possible and would urge customers to check the LiveWire website at www.livewirewarrington.org and our social media accounts for the latest updates.

The swimming pools closed last November at the start of a £1.1m improvement project including much needed repairs to heating systems, the plant room and pipes under the swimming pools.
