Women encouraged to become firefighters

FIRE Service chiefs are holding a recruitment event to encourage more women to become firefighters.  
The free event, aimed primarily at women, is on Sunday  April 17 – and women from Warrington are invited to the event at Crewe Fire Station from 12:30 to 3.30pm.
The recruitment pod, a bespoke unit containing virtually all the elements required for the national firefighter recruitment tests, will be there so that people can see just what is needed to become an on-call firefighter.
There will be female firefighters from the service who can talk to people about what it is like to be a firefighter and, also trying out on the recruitment pod, will be several members of the Team GB Women’s American Football Team which is ranked number two in Europe.
Women who have ever thought about becoming a firefighter, and even who haven’t haven’t but you curious, should attend, try out the recruitment tests, talk to female firefighters and see how they get on in the pod against Team GB!
