CHESTER Road, Warrington, was closed for the second time in just nine days following a serious crash this evening involving a car being flipped on its roof.

The incident took place at around 7pm and involved a car being driven by a female, who was taken to hospital. The condition of the driver is unknown.

One local resident said the car was believed to have collided with a parked vehicle and then “flipped on its roof.”

Police, paramedics and fire crews all attended the scene.

The North West Air ambulance was scrambled as paramedics and fire officers managed to free the female passenger from the car and she was airlifted to hospital.

A week last Monday the road was closed following a collision between a car and a motor cycle.
