Warrington continues to punch above its weight

WARRINGTON’S Annual Property Review will once again show how the town continues to “punch above its weight” when the report is published next month (April).

Warrington Borough Council has commissioned an annual Property Review for the past eighteen years, which will be hosted by Warrington & Co at the Village Hotel on Friday April 22, from 12 noon until 2pm.

The announcement of the annual findings which cover the development, investment and residential markets is now a high profile event in the business calendar each year.

Warrington & Co MD Steve Park said: “Next month we’ll be announcing the findings of the 2014/15 review and once again it seems that it has been another significant and encouraging year.

“These statistics mirror the findings of the annual Centre for Cities city ‘Healthcheck’ report showing that Warrington’s economy continues to punch well above its weight. The 2016 report placed Warrington as the only ‘city’ in the North of England identified as a ‘high wage and low welfare city’
(and 12th highest in the UK). Only 14 UK cities were identified as having above average wages and below average levels of welfare per capita.

“Two further reports produced very encouraging findings regarding start-ups in Warrington. A report by The Centre for Entrepreneurs (CFE) has positioned Warrington as being within the top three boroughs in the U.K. for new business start-ups. This was ratified by another report which further analysed company formations by County and showed Warrington as having had 1066 new company formations in 2015 some two thirds more than Cheshire East.

Mr Park added: “Business information is vital to us here at Warrington & Co. not only to analyse the economic performance of the borough but also to see how we can further encourage economic growth.

“As such we are currently undertaking an online survey on behalf of Warrington Borough Council of businesses in the Warrington area to ascertain the views that they hold on issues such as recruitment, business support services, exporting and property requirements.

“The survey is kindly being sponsored by HSBC and Warrington Wolves and is open to businesses of all sizes.

“The findings will provide us with vital information to help us to meet your business needs.

“So if you have a business large or small, new or established please do take part (and be in with a
chance of winning an ipad). Entries close on 15 April. https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/NVX3TF5
