Wire legend shows support at Armed Forces Day event

FORMER Wire legend Mike Nicholas was on hand to show his support as Latchford Albion’s armed forces double header was a great success, with in excess of 300 spectators supporting the day at Victoria Park.

Latchford 2nds showed heart but the speed and fitness of the parachute regiment was too much and they ended up victors 46-12.

The 1st team versus the Army was much closer and a last minute penalty snatched a dramatic win for the Army 26-24.

Albion try scorers Dave Levenston, Dave Yii, Danny Brown and Martin Whitehead with 4 goals for Luke Hickman

For the Army tries were scored by Mick Hoyle 2, Christian Wooler and Mike Harrison. Danny Hunter kicked 5 goals.
