House in garden plan deferred

PLANNING chiefs at Warrington have put off a decision on a controversial plan to build a detached house in the grounds of a cottage.
Members of the borough council’s development management committee deferred consideration of the scheme at Cuerdon Cottage, Cuerdon Drive, Thelwall until all interested parties have been notified of the details of the scheme.
Grappenhall and Thelwall Parish Council have objected to the scheme, along with a number of nearby residents.
The plan involves building a house on land currently occupied by a partly built garage.
Grappenhall and Thelwall Parish Council says the scheme would be a back land development with inadequate access and parking arrangements. They say it is no different to an earlier proposal which was refused.
Planning officers are recommending the scheme be approved.
