Police swoop to catch shoplifting gang

WARRINGTON police have swooped to arrest a shoplifting gang involved in the theft of a large amount of goods from a local supermarket.

Three people have been arrested attempting to leave the area following the theft of a large number of items from Sainsbury’s Supermarket on Church Street, Warrington.

They were intercepted by a patrol car as they attempted to make their getaway.

Meanwhile in another incident earlier this afternoon police used dispersal powers to remove individuals from Birchwood Mall who were causing a nuisance.
