Spring revamp for Walton Hall Park

SPRING visitors to Walton Hall Park will be able to enjoy a brand new playground and a new adventure golf course thanks to an investment of £400,000 by Warrington Borough Council.
For younger children aged 2-8, there will be an enchanted forest-themed playground, offering a variety of innovative, durable play equipment with bright, eye catching ground graphics for children to enjoy for many years to come.
Work is mid-way but the 8-13 years play area is already open and will stay open throughout the duration of the works. Everything should be completed and ready to enjoy by the middle of March.
In addition, the hall’s former crazy golf course, installed more than 40 years ago and sadly dilapidated, is getting a creative makeover.
The new adventure golf course will incorporate Walton-themed carvings and stone features and will be ready to use in April.
Cllr Kate Hannon, the council’s lead member for parks and gardens, said: “The public were consulted on both developments and we received a great deal of imaginative suggestions.
“It will bring these facilities up-to-date, making a more attractive and exciting place for Warrington residents and families to visit and enjoy.”
The works are being funded through the council’s capital investment programme and are part of the wider works on the Walton Estate.
