LATCHFORD Albion 2nd had their first run out ahead of the upcoming season and came out 26-16 winners in an entertaining game with Westhoughton at the Victoria Park Stadium.
Try scorers for Albion were Jamie Birchall 2, Dave Yii, Ross Atkinson and player/coach Phil Gleave. Veteran Gavin Bishop added three conversions.
Head coach Lee Smith said: “I was pleased with the numbers having 24 players available. The new facilities have certainly aided player recruitment and we need a strong squad to provide competition for all places throughout the season”
The first team return to action with a tough test against premier division opposition Haydock on Saturday. Kick off 2.30pm at the Victoria Park Stadium.
