Warrington’s first snowfall

VIDEO: WARRINGTON snow fans were out in force last night after the first sprinkling of snow of the year.

Local resident Chris Digita was up bright and early to capture some stunning snow scenes in the Padgate and Orford area of the town using a drone, while warrington-worldwide readers posted snow scenes on social media.

There was even enough snow for some sledging up near Warrington Golf Club.

But while the snow provided fun for some, it also provided work for the council with gritters out on roads with temperatures set to drop to around freezing again tonight.

Warrington’s forecast for later today (Sunday) is outbreaks of rain, sleet and possibly snow continuing in places. Minimum Temperature -2°C.

The outlook for tomorrow is dull and damp morning however, patchy sleet and snow, together with strong winds which will gradually ease and fade as brighter, drier weather develops from the east later. Maximum Temperature 3°C.

A cold start on Tuesday, but staying mostly dry with some brightness into Wednesday before more unsettled but rather milder weather is expected by the latter part of the week.
