Police target young hooligans at Birchwood

POLICE are targeting anti social behaviour in the Birchwood area of Warrington this weekend following complaints from local residents.
The aim is to deter and prevent incidents involving drugs, alochol and nuisance behaviour.
There have also been complaints about youths causing annoyance in and around the Birchwood shopping centre, with large gatherings of yougnsters on bicycles on the car park giving abuse tomotorists and groups inside the mall disrupting cutomers.
Police have already obtained the names of some youths and letters have been sent to parents.
They are working closely with shopping centre security staff and Birchwood High School where there is now a dedicated youth engagement officer.
