LEISURE and lifestyle service LiveWire is inviting residents to take part in the Sport Relief Mile at Victoria Park in March.
Warrington is set to host the event for the third time on Sunday, March 20 and this year participants will be able to try out the new running track in the park as part of the challenge.
Local heroes from the town will be walking and running themselves proud to raise life-changing money for Sport Relief 2016. The colourful, cheerful and eager milers will be doing their bit to make a difference to people living across the UK and the world’s poorest communities.
The event has something for everyone including an inclusive one mile route as well as more challenging routes for the three and six mile races.
Setting off from Victoria Park the mile will involve four laps of the fabulous athletics track making it ideal for those with buggies and wheelchairs to take part.
The three and six mile routes take runners and walkers through the stunning park onto Black Bear Park and even onto the Trans Pennine Trail. It is set to be an incredible event.
Organiser Louise Shannon from LiveWire, said: “The Sport Relief Mile in Victoria Park is here and it’s your time to walk or run yourself proud. From little ones with their Mums and Dads, to runners up against the clock there’s something for everyone to make themselves feel proud on this special day.”
Half of all the money raised by the public is spent right here at home in the UK, with the other half used to make a difference in the world’s poorest communities.
You can register for the mile now at www.sportrelief.com  or if you’d like to volunteer at the event, please contact Lou Shannon on 01925 624996
