Train guard attacked by passenger at Birchwood

A TRAIN guard was punched by a passenger at Birchwood Station, Warrington, after challenging him over non-payment.
British Transport Police have today released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to following the incident at 8pm on Saturday, December 12.
Investigating officer PC David Barnes said: “A man argued with the train guard after he was asked to buy a ticket. When he left the train at Birchwood he punched the guard.”
Officers want to speak to the man in the image in connection with this incident.
PC Barnes added: “I believe this man will have vital information which could greatly assist our investigation. Who is he?”
Anyone who knows the man pictured, or has any information about the incident, is asked to call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016 quoting reference PSUB/B7 of 15/01/2016.
Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
