LEISURE and lifestyle provider LiveWire has unveiled four new state-of-the-art fitness suites at its leisure centres and neighbourhood hubs across Warrington.

Birchwood Tennis & Leisure Complex, Broomfields Leisure Centre, Woolston Neighbourhood Hub and Culcheth Community Campus have all been given a new layout and design to provide more space for functional training – a type of exercise which involves training the body for activities performed in everyday life – offering its members a new timetable of short 20 minute workouts on the gym floor.

Top-of-the-range cardio equipment, provided by Technogym who kitted out the training centres during the London 2012 Olympic Games, brings the latest digital technology to the fitness suites with all of the equipment internet-enabled, allowing members to check in on social media and watch their favourite TV shows as they work out.

The equipment is also fitted with Technogym’s innovative digital platform, mywellness cloud which acts as a central hub for members to monitor their training progress by automatically tracking their movement inside the gym and collating that with any outside activity thanks to integration with fitness apps including Strava, MapMyFitness and MyFitnessPal.

A number of LiveWire members took part in an exclusive session with a Technogym ‘Master Trainer’ – a highly experienced exercise professional also specialising in the education of wellness – today to get an exclusive first-look at all the functions of the new equipment.

Paul Creamer, LiveWire Member from Cinnamon Brow, said: “The session I took part in today was very explosive and really got my heart pumping. The new equipment LiveWire has installed is fantastic, it’s really well designed and the new layout of the fitness suites is really well thought out.”

LiveWire also plan to install the same state-of-the-art equipment at their brand new fitness suite as part of the £16 million Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub development and at their flagship site, Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub.

Vicki Dunning, Strategic Lead for Facilities at LiveWire, said: “It was important for LiveWire to make this investment in our fitness suites to provide our customers with the latest technology to help improve their fitness and wellbeing. The new gyms look fantastic and we hope all our new and existing members enjoy using the new facilities.”

Steve Barton, UK Sales Director at Technogym, added: “It’s been fantastic to work with such a forward thinking health and leisure provider and support these facilities by providing users with our brand new equipment and technology to help promote health and wellness to more people across the UK.”
