Doctors’ strike will have “minimal” effect on hospitals

PATIENTS with appointments at Warrington or Halton General hospitals on Tuesday – the day of the junior doctors’ national strike – should still attend unless they have been specifically told not to.
A spokesperson for Warrington and Halton NHS Hospitals Trust said today: “Patients are advised that if they have not heard from us they should present as planned for their procedure/appointment on Tuesday.
“There will be minimal cancellations and these patients will be contacted directly by telephone.
“Consultants and other healthcare professionals will be working differently to deliver patient care during the strike and our junior doctors will be providing emergency cover.  Emergency care remains unaffected.”
