HUNDREDS of North West-based job opportunities for young people will be showcased at Warrington’s second Apprenticeship and Jobs Fair.
The fair, brought together by Warrington Borough Council, the Skills Funding Agency, and the Cheshire and Warrington LEP, takes place at The Centre, Birchwood Park on January 21 from 6-9pm.
Young people will be able to find out more about more than 350 apprenticeships and job opportunities from around the region.
A number of high profile regional employers and organisations will be there, alongside advisors from the National Apprenticeship Service, the borough council’s careers service, and representatives from a number of local colleges and universities.
Council leader Terry O’Neill (pictured) said: “I would encourage all young people across Warrington to book now and take advantage of some invaluable job opportunities with some of the region’s best employers. These events give you the chance to meet top employers face to face and hear about a range of fantastic job opportunities all in one place.”
Nick Wilson, deputy director for the National Apprenticeship Service in the North West, said: “Hiring apprentices is a proven way of attracting new talent and developing a motivated, skilled and diverse workforce.  Events like these, where those seeking employment have the opportunity to find out more about apprenticeships first hand, are therefore hugely important and we encourage all young people reading this and parents to book a place.”
Some of the employers who will be attending include: Aldi, Army Careers Centre, Barclays, Cheshire Constabulary, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service (Prince’s Trust), Cogent SSC, Ecolab Ltd, Electricity North West, European Metal Recycling, IESA Ltd, Network Rail, Nuvia Limited, Ombudsman Services, S. Cartwright & Sons (Coachbuilders) Limited, Sellafield, Tangerine PR, Thales Group, Unilever, United Utilities, Virgin Trains, Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
