FEARS are growing for a Warrington man who disappeared in Scotland after a river burst its banks when Storm Frank hit last week.

Police divers have joined the search for Terence Kilbride, aged 48, who is known to spend time camping in the Aberdeenshire area and has not been seen since two bags containing his belongings were found in Aberdeen’s Bridge of Dee area on January 2.

Mr Kilbride is believed to have been camping when Storm Frank hit last week when the River Dee burst its banks, causing destruction over a wide area.

A police diving unit has been searching the river, as part of the effort to find Mr Kilbride.

Launching a public appeal in a bid to help trace Mr Kilbride Inspector David Paterson, of Police Scotland, said: “Given the recent inclement weather we are extremely concerned to trace Mr Kilbride and confirm he is safe and well and we are treating this as a missing person enquiry.

“A photograph, which is a few years old, of Mr Kilbride has been provided and we are asking people to see if they recognise him.

“Mr Kilbride is known to go camping and spend time outdoors and it is thought he may have been camping in the Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire areas. It is also thought that he may have a bicycle with him.

“If you have any information which may help us trace Mr Kilbride please contact us on 101.”

Mr Kilbride is described as being 6ft tall with short dark greying hair and has blue eyes.
